Call me Ren! Queer in all senses of the word. Polyam. They/Them. Currently 22. ♓ Japanese and so fucking proud of it. I love taking pictures, watching cartoons, movies and crappy horror flicks. I have a hard time being positive and happy. I wish, more than anything, to be held and loved.

On working with Lena Waithe to write the “Thanksgiving” episode, based on Waithe’s experiences growing up gay and coming out to her family
“I told [Lena] from the get-go, you need to write this with me and I’ll help you and we’ll get this in shape and make it feel like the show, but you’ve got to make sure we get this right. …
That episode, it’s just me and four black women, the whole episode. I joked with Melina [Matsoukas], who directed the episode, and Lena, “This is the most amount of screen time I’ve seen on any film or television show, with one Indian character and four black women.” How am I going to write that episode by myself? It would be offensive! You know? I guess I don’t have the gall of all those white writers who write for minorities.”
Fav episode of the season. Hope to have more writing from Lena Waithe in S3.
Honestly, Rick Rolling is the best practical joke ever. Like, there’s nothing offensive or mean spirited about it. It’s just like “Oops you thought there would be something else here but it’s ‘Never Gonna Give You Up’.” which isn’t even a bad song. It’s fairly enjoyable to listen to. There’s no jumpscares, no screaming, no ill will. Just Rick Astley telling you he’s never going to give you up. I think that’s great. “You fell into my trap! Here, listen to this completely benign song that will have no negative effect on you.”
Someone call a doctor, because doing this painting killed my hands. Good gravy. That foliage. HOWEVER. Finally, with some help and encouragement I managed to get through it. Special thanks to my fiance for their support and not letting me die in a deep, deep sea of despair :D
